Barry Portnoy, DMD | General Dentist
I believe that dental care should be accessible to everyone. This is why, alongside my dental practice, I work as an educator, preparing the next generation of dentists to serve their communities. Over the recent years, I’ve been active with the Family Dental Health Center of Worcester AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) Residency Program as a Dental Faculty Staff Instructor.
Education & Background
General Practice Residency
Doctor of Dental Medicine
Bachelor of Chemistry
I am proud to have been part of UMass’s first graduating class in 1969, and then of Tufts Dental School’s first three-year dental program in 1975. Between these experiences, I have worked as a research assistant for Dr James C Melby, the head of the Department of Endocrinology Boston University Medical Center.
After completing a General Practice Residency Program at Peninsula General Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY, I opened my dental practice in Westborough in December of 1976. Since then, our team has been part of the local community, taking care of our patients and crafting beautiful smiles.
I am privileged to serve our Olympic teams, as a Dental Provider of ASD-USOC DVP (Academy for Sports Dentistry-United States Olympic Committee Dental Volunteer Program).
Outside the office
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife Merle and I have two sons and four grandchildren.
